THIS WEEK IN RETAIL
FASHION/RETAIL TECH
Under Armour has recently partnered with global fashion-tech company Alvanon that helped integrate 3D avatars into its development channels to improve sizing accuracy.

Voice-activated virtual fashion assistant tool StyleHacks generates suitable product recommendations for shoppers by having real-time conversations on the app. Powered by Artificial Intelligence, it delivers instant, ultra-personalised results to shoppers.

The world's first digital haute-couture dress 'Iridescence' is to be auctioned and sold for $9,500 in cryptocurrency, in support of the Foundation for Art and Blockchain charity. The virtual dress was designed by The Fabricant, a Dutch digital fashion house.

SUSTAINABILITY
The parent company of Vans and Timberland plans to embrace change fast and stay relevant in a volatile retail landscape. Its stores boast avatar-based virtual mannequins that showcase seasonal looks in 3D and shoppers can use touchscreen displays to visualise products in different lighting and scenarios.
Camper and Ecoalf have partnered together to create a line of sustainable footwear collaboration that are made with recycled fabric. The unisex shoes are made from a mix of recycled materials sourced from post-industrial waste, fabric scraps, and recovered plastic bottles.
