Nike recently developed a new scanning solution that uses a proprietary combination of computer vision, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence and recommendation algorithms. Titled Nike Fit, the in-house technology measures shoppers' feet to generate the perfect size recommendation for each pair of Nike shoes.
Over the past few years, multiple brands have been developing apps and tools that offer innovative and interactive experiences for shoppers. ASOS recently launched Virtual Catwalk, its first AR feature that provides customers a new way of viewing its products in real life.
STORE OF THE FUTURE
Pomelo Fashion unveiled its first store in Singapore yesterday at 313@Somerset, with interactive tech features such as the 'In-Store Mode' and 'Pomelo Pick Up' kiosks dedicated for customers to try on and pick up their purchases.
Singtel unveiled the next-generation retail experience with Singapore's first unmanned pop-up store that includes roving live bots powered by facial recognition technology, video-assisted self-serve kiosks, and many more.
SUSTAINABILITY
Over 400 organisations gathered at the 10th edition of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit last month to celebrate the past decade of work for sustainable fashion. Since its birth in 2009, the Summit has established itself as the world's leading business event on sustainability in fashion.
Sustainability has become a hot topic in the fashion retail industry. T-shirt manufacturing company Teemill is making a conscious effort to adopt a circular supply chain and create value from waste.

Dynamic co-working spaces and tech demo rooms with cutting-edge technical equipment - fashion design school IFA Paris is undergoing efforts to launch a fashion-tech innovation lab to support the development of fashion tech solutions among its students.
Vestiaire Collective, a Paris-based social e-commerce platform, completed a €40 million round of funding led by French national investment bank Bpifrance and CEO Max Bittner last week, with plans to launch new technology and expand to markets in Asia and the Middle East.
